The Realm Expands (II) - 400 BC to 270 BC

I don't know what I did to upset Gustavus Adolphus, maybe being too friendly with Riga is the reason. Whatever it was I can't change it. Arabia is a neighbour and I get a good deal for my Ivory.

390 BC: I renew my Trade Route to Harar, Ethiopia - it's not much but I want to keep Haile Selassie happy. I purchase the Gold hex west of Thebes and have accumulated enough Faith points to buy a Missionary in order to spread Judaism. Finally I purchase a Settler in Rabat and place an order for a new Worker. A lot to do as a leader.

350 BC: My Missionary is first active at Carthage - 2 citizens are converted to Judaism but that is less than half of 5 total citizens therefore not enough to convert the entire City. Currency Research has been completed and I decide to pursue Metal Casting next. This Technology is good for increasing productivity. Finally a Library is ordered in Georgetown

330 BC: Benghasi also has 2 citizens converted to Judaism and because the City has only 4 citizens Benghasi is now a Jewish City.
My Settler has arrived on the offshore Island and Tenerifa has been founded - a Monument is to be built first. Then a Work Boat improves the Crab hex and since it is a new Luxury Resource I receive another 4 Happiness points. I do Arabia a favour by denouncing China.

More construction, Monuments, plus a nice Export deal with Darius of Persia. I have to disappoint Harun of Arabia because I really don't want to go to war at the moment.

290 BC: A Settler built in Gao has arrived on a second Island and Cabo Verde is founded, a Monument is placed on order and as at Tenerifa a new Luxury Resource is improved and Pearls are added to my Trade Network. Finally a Circus has been built at Carthage and a Granary is ordered.

270 BC:  Carthage is now connected to my Capital Gao then more new construction is started - a Trireme in Oran and a Library in Dakar.

Finally my Trade Route to Lisbon is renewed and that ends this post. Two new cities have been founded and I have every reason to be content. Until soon :)

The Realm Expands (I) - 550 BC to 410 BC

Now the Realm has to be developed - Roads have to be built in order to connect the newly acquired cities to the Trade Network, (all roads lead to Gao), and I wish I had more Workers. Each City needs a Monument, Shrine and Granary to benefit the Realm as a whole and Libraries are needed to promote research.

Always a pleasure to do business with Sweden :) Dakar has been connected to Gao which brings in more Gold per turn.

520 BC: Now Oran has been connected to Gao and I renew Riga as an Ally - remember that they have three Luxury resources which I don't have and that translates to 12 Happiness points. I can also finally start building my first Coffee Plantation - another 4 Happiness points.

510 BC: The Dakar City screen and the next chart isn't very flattering but I have been fighting wars not buildng things....

500 BC: My Workers are busy again - note the Bowman has moved to an Island in order to garrison a new City, Tenerifa.

490 BC: I change a Cargo ship route to Constantinople because it is more lucrative and to cultivate a friendship with Byzantine - the owner of the new City at the mouth of the Nile. I only get 5 Gold per turn from Haile Selassie because we are not friends but five is better than nothing. Agadez has grown to two citizens.

The number of cities is beginning to keep me busy but that's part of the job.

450 BC: Philosophy Research has been completed and Currency is the next project. Markets and Mints bring in more Gold per turn.

440 BC: A new Caravan has arrived and I use it assist growth at Agadez.
430 BC: A lot going on this turn. Important is the new Social Policy. The Liberty branch has been completed so I choose Tradition next. It improves growth, culture and faith. I also add a second Settler to the Production Queue in Gao - I want more cities.

Finally more new production in Benghasi and Dakar - the Courthouse was completed in Benghasi thus negating the Unhappiness of an occupied city.

That's all for this post - more soon :)
