Fall of Carthage - 990 BC to 950 BC

One of my Triremes takes a sneak peek of the waters near Carthage then withdraws to safety.

At the right edge of the next pic you can see that four more nations have declared war on Carthage - like vultures sensing a corpse. One of my Bowmen initiates the attack before all my troops have arrived so I'll have to either support it or abandon it - I choose the former....a second Bowman moves forward and bombards Carthage and three more units move nearer but can't attack. In fact, my most powerful unit, the Catapult can't join in for three turns ;(

An enemy Warrior foolishly attacked my exposed Bowman making itself easy prey for my Spearman.

970 BC: Carthage is now bombarded by three Bowmen and my Catapult moves within bombardment range.

960 BC:  The next round of bombardment, this time including my Catapult, leaves Carthage ready to be stormed.

A Spearman and a Warrior are available to storm the City.....
950 BC: My Catapult receives a Promotion then bombards Carthage

Two Bowmen bombard the City then my Warrior assaults.....

Carthage falls and I annex it collecting beaucoup Gold. I start the construction of a Couthouse.

A Bowman bombards the enemy Quinquereme then my Navy attacks.  The ship survives but only barely.

My statistics are looking good. I'm weak in expected areas but I'm not overly concerned,

This Chart shows that I have Salt and Ivory available for Export...
I give Riga 500 Gold to make it an Ally - that means I now receive three more Luxury resources from them, (12 Happiness Points),  as well as Food because it is a Maritime nation.
That's the end of this post - until soon :)
