The Fall of Hippo Regius - 1040 BC to 1000 BC

Before we open our offensive we greet Bismarck to our circle of friends :)

The Garrison of Hippo Regius had already bombarded one of my Bowmen but all three of my forward units attack the City :)

I place Catapults on the Production Queues of Rabat and Tombouctu - because of the lack of any Carthaginian troops I am considering going for Carthage City, too!

A triple-barrage against Hippo Regius again and my Warrior moves forward to storm the City!

Another new Social Policy and I choose Meritocracy which completes the Liberty Branch. I get to choose a Great Person and I select a Great Engineer.

Dido attacks my poor Bowman again but replacements arrive and it is almost back to full-strength :) 

The Bowman has the honour of delivering the final Barrage before my Warrior takes the City :)

I annex the City, rename it Oran and start building a Courthouse which when completed will negate any Unhappiness caused by the occupation.

A Bowman bombards the enemy Quinquereme and I upgrade an Archer to a Composite Bowman.

Now my Navy enters the battle....

1010 BC: My Catapult bombards the Quinquereme and a Trireme finishes the fight ;)

Venice decides to offer their Friendship and we greet their leader Enrico Dandolo :)

Arabia begs for Gold and Shaka of the Zulus denounces me - great neighbours....

A Trireme is promoted and I strengthen my friendship with Riga.

That's completed the capture of Oran - let's see what's next :)
