Brest-Litovsk - 1060 AD to 1100 AD

The enlarged Empire requires special attention at the Moment - I must avoid growth because each new citizen costs a Happiness Point and I don't have many of those at the moment. Also Munich is almost defenceless - there is still the City Garrison and Riga is a neighbour.

In Carthage I have received a Composite Bowman and because there is a Barracks in the city it receives an automatic Promotion. I order a Pikeman next - they upgrade to Lancers.

The war between Venice and Byzantine doesn't look very active....
1065 AD:  More Production: a Pikeman has arrived in Tombouctu and a Musketman in Thebes. New production in the cities are a Stable and a Composite Bowman respectively.

In Alexandria the Courthouse has been completed which means that Unhappiness is negated - that means +5 Happiness pts. I build a Stone Works next.
I now have enough Happiness to annex Munich - it is now a normal 'occupied' City :)
A badly needed Work Boat arrives in Cameroun and I build a Colosseum next - 2 Happiness Pts.
1070 AD: A Galleass is received in Georgetown and another Pikeman is placed on order.

I purchase a Missionary in Thebes using 900 Faith Points.

I sell Gold to Bismarck for 3 Gold per turn - he doesn't look very happy, does he? I wonder why...

1075 AD: I plot a course for the Missionary to Oran - foreign religions have been influencing it.
Another Pikeman is received in Chad and I place a Circus and a Mosque on the Production Queue.

End of my turn. Note the Venetian Missionary at sea NW of Benghasi :(
More Gold is exported, this time to Siam. I hope you have noticed that the Songhai have a strong economy - we just don't have good trading partners....
1080 AD: No work this turn - I can put my feet up.
1085 AD: An Incense hex near Chad needs a Plantation....
....and since there is no more work to be done around Addis Ababa I move the Worker to Chad.
I move a Trireme towards the open Atlantic - they upgrade to Caravels which are ocean-going ships.
1090 AD: A Lighthouse has been completed in Cabo Verde and I build a Harbor next. This will connect the city to Gao just like a road on land.
First I rename Munich to Brest-Litovsk, start building a Courthouse then purchase Walls in order to increase the city's defences.
Next I purchase a Trebuchet and a Worker.

This shows how busy the Port of Lisbon is.....
1095 AD: The usual lousy trade...
Finally, Astronomy has been researched and I choose Navigation next.
This Technology enables the building of Frigates and Privateers. A Galleass upgrades to a Frigate. A strong Navy is my next priority.
Unfortunately my Missionary doesn't convert Barcelona to Judaism. I must be patient. Lisbon is my next target.
Eastern Europe with Brest-Litovsk in the middle of things. Germany can't attack because of the Peace Treaty but there are three Russian Musketeers on my border, The Courthouse requires another 15 turns but my Worker will chop down a Forest to speed things up :)
1100 AD: Where is that Venetian Missionary going??
My statistics: 200+  Victory Points more than Catherine. Number 20, i.e. least popular Nation.

That is all for this post - until next time :)
