Building the Bridge (I) - 1185 AD too 1200 AD

Most of the troops I planned using are already in place - it is a question of waiting for the right moment. For example, I have to wait for Venetian ships to vacate the area - I can't have them occupying sea hexes which I require.

There are still the Caravels exploring the oceans and there is the Empire to administrate, so all in all, things are a bit busy - it is easy to forget something.

Let's give Addis Ababa a Mud Pyramid Mosque - the Musketman may come in useful further North.
I plot a course for my shiny new Lancer and another Ancient Ruins is inspected - 60 Culture Points are useful.

A Coffee Plantation is always good!
I set up a Trebuchet and move a Galleass from the Atlantic into the Western Mediterranean.

A lot of Siamese Pikemen are on the march...end of my turn.
1190 AD: So that is where Haile Selassie has been hiding. On Madagascar...
Nothing to do but wait this turn. Views of NE Africa and Samarkand - beaucoup Siamese Catapults as well!

1195 AD: Keeping a Worker busy and there are three Ancient Ruins in Hudson Bay!

The calm before the storm....
1200 AD: Afraid of us Maria? We really are just passing through the area - don't panic :)
A Settler arrives at the Atlantic coast - it can't cross over alone though - too dangerous.
I'm not chopping down another Forest so let's clear a Marsh instead.
My third Caravel arrives in the Arabian Sea. Persia only has one city left....
There are no Venetian ships in Byzantine waters so it's time to begin by plundering a Trade Route.
We declare war!

An enemy Galleass in Egyptian waters is hit first.

Constantinople is bombarded three times from the sea.

Then both my Trebuchets on Crete bombard the second enemy Galleass in Egyptian waters.

The front at the end of round one. Note my Composite Bowman that is North of  Constantinople.
That is all for this post - how will Theodora react? Find out in the next post.
