Waiting for more Happiness - 1105 AD to 1115 AD

Before I can embark upon either colonization in the New World or the capture of Constantinople I must considerably increase the Happiness Level of the Realm. Many Colosseums are under construction or planned and Courthouses are being built in Barcelona and Brest-Litovsk.

I want to threaten Adwa from the East - I have no intent to go to war but I do want to have forces in place in the case of an emergency. I've just received a Pikeman in Addis Ababa which I'll use as the Garrison - the Longswordsman can go to Zanzibar.

One Caravel is sent northeastwards while the other heads out into the Atlantic.

I start constructing a Trading Post W of Oran....

....and convert Lisbon to Judaism.

In Brest-Litovsk I purchase a Composite Bowman - that's my last purchase of troops here.

My Great Prophet is only a few hexes away from Brest-Litovsk.

Now that's what I call a trade deal :)

1110 AD: Good News! All my cities in Africa are now connected to each other :)

I've received another Pikeman, (they are arriving en masse now), this time in Gao - I promote it then I'll park it nearby as a HQ Reserve Unit.

I move a Worker to Addis Ababa because I want to build a road from there to Zanzibar so troops can be moved much faster.

In Brest-Litovsk I bring my Trebuchet back and set it up for ranged-attack.

The Silver Mine on Sardinia is finished so I move the Worker to West Africa to be held in reserve for a New World expedition.

The Eastern Mediterranean at the end of my turn.

1115 AD: Just keeping my Workers busy - better to be busy then bored ;)

I embark a Pikeman and a Caravel ventures further westward...

I convert Brest-Litovsk to Judaism....

....and renew my Trade Route to Stockholm.

I upgrade a third Trireme to a Caravel - this one will sail around Africa and find a sea-route to India.

The region around Constantinople at the end of this post. Note that most of thhe Russian troops have disppeared from the border with Brest-Litovsk. Catherine is at war with Attila and I believe with China, too. Yerevan has been captured by Venice - that was a sneaky move and a good one.

I've just noticed the message - I don't really want to bully Mogadischu - there is no hurry.
