A Change of Emphasis - 965 AD to 985 AD

My decision to promote colonization in the New World means that I have to solidify my position in NW Africa and the Western Mediterranean. I won't be neglecting other regions but they will have less priority. I want to spread the Jewish Faith too.

We'll begin with the construction of two Farms....

....and then the repair of a Horse Pasture.
I move a Galleass towards the West and leave you with a view of the possible next front. I really do need to cut Germany's Navy down to size. If I'm busy somewhere else the Kriegsmarine could seriously disrupt my Trade Routes out of Rabat.

970 AD: I plot a course for a Trebuchet to Sardinia - more firepower in the Western Mediterranean!
My Southern and Northern borders at the end of my turn.

A decent trade deal with my only friend Attila :)
He makes peace with four nations but not Persia, India and Siam - the ones who are attacking the most. I'll keep Samarkand out of this fight....

975 AD: I've received a Knight from M'banza-Kongo and I move it in the direction of Oran.
I commence building a road from Thebes to Alexandria.
A Mandekalu Cavalry has arrived at the coast near Rabat and I direct a Worker to a Horse hex SW of Chad. I'm slowly but surely developing my Realm :)

980 AD: Attila and I renew our Declaration of Friendship and I receive a Great Prophet. I'm not sure that the two events are related but they are both welcome :)

Guess what? I order another Pikeman and I move my Great Prophet eastwards. It's time to convert Arabia to Judaism :)

I renew my Trade Route from Rabat to Stockholm....
.....and the situation in NW Africa and Central Asia at the end of my turn.

985 AD: That is asking a lot too much Attila! Sorry mate...

Finally - Education has been researched and I choose Astronomy next.

I finish this post with the construction of a Pasture on the Horses hex. Until soon :)

Is Germany a Problem? - 950 AD to 960 AD

I now have several options to consider, one of them is to concentrate on the colonization of the New World. There are new Luxury Resources there as well as nations who don't know me. I don't think I have to worry about The Zulus anymore. Shaka appears to want to avoid a conflict and I have no problem with that. Arabia is another strong neighbour but we have never been at war.

I'm also in the mood to build Pikemen. Why? They upgrade to Lancers in the Renaissance Age :)
I must to do some post-conflict mainteneance. I see that I have Coffee and Incense available are for export....
My statistics are as expected - my Approval Rating is rock-bottom :)

That's the Coffee gone....
....and Bismarck has something I don't have. I demand it and get a very German response.

Napoleon gets my Incense.
My first Pikeman is ordered in Georgetown and a second in Dakar.

....and a third in Benghasi :)
I rearrange my citizens in Thebes to put more emphasis on production....
and order a Work Boat in Cameroun.
Another Pikeman in Chad and a Granary in Kisangani.

Finally Alexandria gets some fine tuning.
Persia and Germany aren't too happy with my World Congress proposal, All I did was suggest more Art. The middle pic shows how much Attila benefits from my Ally Samarkand!

I have no idea why Ethiopia thinks that my Ally M'banza-Kongo needs their protection :-/
955 AD: I boost its Ally status again then I realize that I already have Coffee therefore maybe I should allow it to become neutral again....
My southern border at the end of my turn.
More friendly diplomatic intercourse...

960 AD: I begin to move my Navy to the Western Mediterranean. My Demand earlier appears to have upset Bismarck and he is making threatening moves in Iberia.

Another Trade deal with Theodora.
A nice view of NE Africa at the end of my turn and end of this post.
Until next time :)
