The Battle of Addis Ababa (I) - 705 AD to 715 AD

The final preparations for the assault on the Ethiopian capital are now under way. Including a new Trebuchet in Gao - I move it towards Sudan.

I move three Trebuchets forward so that they can bombard Addis Ababa next turn - the third only uses one Movement Point so I can also set it up for Range Attack.

I move a Worker with the intention of building a Road to Chad and I use my Bowman to finish off the enemy Swordsman. That ends my turn.

Ethiopia Counters by bombarding my Longswordsman with both the city defences and the Bowman garrisoning it leaving my Trebuchets intact!

710 AD: I meet a new City-State, Mogadishu, and receive 15 Gold. Nothing of interest there.

On my border with the Zulus I ready a Trebuchet and I move a Chariot Archer to a Hill N of Addis Ababa which also has a Manufactory.

I renew two Trade Routes to Ragusa and Stockholm

My Trebuchets bombard Addis Ababa and my wounded Longswordsman withdraws out of range.

Ethiopia's response is swift and deadly destroying my Chariot Archer :(

715 AD: I accumulated enough Faith pts. to receive a Great Prophet and plot a course for it to Thebes - it's time to convert the city to Judaism.

I move a Composite Bowman to occupy the Manufactory and a Worker to the Deer hex E of Sudan. Next I start building the Road to Chad.

My three frontline Trebuchets bombard Addis Ababa again....

....then I reorganize Chad's citizens putting more emphasis on Production.

The situation at the end of my turn - the capital's fate is almost decided.
