The Battle of Addis Ababa (II) - 715 AD to 725 AD

The Ethiopian counter-strike was aimed at a Trebuchet this time - I guess they finally figured out they are my most powerful weapon.
720 AD: Japan appears to be collecting a lot of friends.
I place my damaged Longswordsman and the Trebuchet in repair mode and move two fresh Longswordsmen to the Hills overlooking Addis Ababa. They can both assault the city next turn.

I move a fresh Trebuchet forward then bombard Addis Ababa with two Trebuchets and a Bowman.

Wow! A Great General is born :)
I've moved a Trebuchet nearer to the Zulu and set it up for Range Fire. These are purely defensive measures. Really!!
I have to take care of Production: a Horseman in Dakar, a Library in Oran and a Pikeman in Benghasi.

The front at the end of my turn.
Haile Selassie bombards one of the Longswordsmen threatening his capital but he must now realize that all is lost.
My Ally M'banza-Kongo gives me another Trebuchet - how nice :)
725 AD: I move my new Galleass to the Central Mediterranean, ship my Worker from Crete back to the mainland and start constructing a Camp on the Deer hex E. of Sudan.

My new Trebuchet bombards Addis Ababa then a Longswordsman captures the city. I receive 427 Gold annexing it and garner 8 Unhappiness pts.

I start building a Courthouse and arrange the citizens for maximum growth.

After the battle I place the damaged Longswordsman in repair mode, promote a Trebuchet and move a Worker towards a Coffee hex near to Sudan.

East Africa at the end of my turn. There is enough room for a new city on the Forest hex 4 hexes S of Sudan. Something to do when Gao is available.
Finally I offer Haile Selassie Peace and he accepts. Mission accomplished.

The war is over and this ends this post. Until next time :)
