The build-up and modernization of my armed forces continues. My goal is to replace all my ancient era units with medieval era equivalents.
I have accumulated enough Faith points to purchase another Missionary which arrives in Gao. In Georgetown I start building a Chariot Archer - not a modern unit but it can be upgraded to a Knight. I order a Worker to connect Sudan to my road network.

I meet the Japanese leader and discover Mt. Fuji giving me an extra Happiness point - we exchange Embassies which is rare for me...

330 AD: Sudan has adopted the Ethiopian Religion - luckily I have a Missionary which can reverse the situation.

Oh well, business as usual with the Japanese guy...
340 AD: First, Sudan becomes a Jewish city then I renew my Trade Route to Harar.

I start building a Farm W of Gao and renew the Trade Route to Ragusa. Next, Sudan has grown so I place more emphasis on Production.

I teach the Japanese guy a lesson by denouncing him - at least I feel better. Another lousy trade deal with Sweden. My turn will come one day...

370 AD: Cabo Verde has grown and my Missionary has arrived at Rabat which I then convert to Judaism giving me an extra Happiness point.

Next turn I start building a Farm on the Wheat hex E of Thebes.
390 AD: I order Chariot Archers in Carthage and Benghasi and start building a Farm south of the latter city.

In Oran I start building a Colosseum....
....and in 410 AD the Compass Technology has been researched. I choose Steel next which will enable me to convert my Warriors and Swordsmen to Longswordsmen - much more powerful :)

420 AD: A couple more builds: a Galleass in Carthage - a powerful medieval Warship - and a Granary in Sudan.

Finally I can choose another Social Policy - Oligarchy - I have a lot of garrisoned Units so I should save some Gold. More in the next post :)
