Let's formally declare war....

....then take care of loose ends.
I use my Spy to take a looksie at the City Screen of St. Petersburg - it is well developed.

Now to the battle. A Composite Bowman fires at a Byzantine counterpart then two Trebuchets bombard Antioch.

Next, two Mandekalu Cavalry units assault the city and Antioch falls.

I've gained 4 Happiness pts. from the Marble hex so I now enough Happiness to be able to absorb the 10 Unhappiness caused by annexing Antioch :)
A second Bowman attacks the Byzantinian Bowman then it is destroyed by one of my Mandekalus.

The first Cavalry unit that assaulted Antioch still has movement points left so I place it in repair mode.
I rename the city Alexandria, start building a Courthouse and rearrange the citizens to give max. growth. I also purchase a hex to get rid of the French Bowman there.

Alexandria has been captured but the battle isn't over yet. A Galleass bombards a Byzantinian Dromon and I move a Trireme forward in order to protect my Trade Route to Ragusa.

My attack on Antioch cancelled three Trade Deals I had with Theodora so I replace them with new deals.

The front at the end of my turn.
915 AD: The two Dromons and a Swordsman attacked Alexandria but we are still in business. Two Galleass warships attack and sink the nearest enemy Dromon.

I move a third Galleass nearer to the battle.
I move a damaged Mandelaku away from the coast and move a Trebuchet to the vacated hex. My second Trebuchet is also on the move in order to get a piece of the action. Byzantium's turn now...

The Byzantinian counter-attack almost recaptured Alexandria but my forces prevailed.

I must defeat the enemy Dromon and Catapult next turn but that is in the next post. Until next time :)
