Still at Peace - 190 AD to 310 AD

Now that most of my roads have been built I can now concentrate on other things; Farms, for example....

....this is maximum I can get when trading my resources: 3 Gold per turn - if I had a friend I could get 7 Gold per turn....
....and this is what happens when I try to open an Embassy. :(

220 AD: I receive the Civil Service Technology which will increase growth in the Realm. I choose Compass to research next. Also Cameroun has grown. The Monument is almost completed so I add a Granary to the Production Queue.

230 AD: It's about time I garrisoned Cabo Verde so I send a Composite Bowman there. I also add a Shrine to the Production Queue. In Tombouctu I start building a Mint - because there two Gold Mines in its area they will add 4 Gold/turn to my Treasury.

Now it's official - we are the wealthiest Nation despite our catastrophic Export situation.
Ghanat has grown and I place the new citizen on the Gold Mine for extra cash and production. In Rabat the Mint has been built and I start a Caravansary. (Only later did I realize that the bonus only applies Land Routes - oops)

270 AD: Thebes is now connected by road to my capital Gao - more Gold - and I decide to buy a hex in the Gulf of Suez. I tried to buy Mt. Sinai, 8 Faith Points/turn, but it is too far away :(

I also add a Colosseum to the Production Queue.
More construction: a Gold Mine NW of Thebes and a Banana Plantation near Georgetown.

Another lousy trade deal but it's better than nothing....
At Carthage I purchase a coastal hex which blocks other ships unless we are at war or we have an Open Border agreement. Only Persia has one of those with me.
300 AD: My Statistics are looking good. Neighbours like Arabia, Portugal and the Zulus are way behind me. My military is now only 3rd - the Huns have the largest force. I really must start building more troops.

The Realm in 300 AD....
310 AD: I renew my Trade Route to Lisbon and see that Haile Selassie has declared war on China!?

That's all for this post. Until next time :)
